Three studies of Filipinos

The artist was based in Hong Kong and produced illustrations for Ilustracion Filipina in the late 1850s and early 1860s, many of which appear to be engravings of original sketches by Charles Wirgman (1832-1891), an artist who visited Manila in 1857 and whose work in Manila was also engraved for the Illustrated London News in 1857-8.
