Lot Essay

John Kleckner’s works often involves imaginative inversions of scale, suggesting dream-like spaces. In Untitled an oversized bearded man emerges as if out of the landscape, his body entirely covered in hair. An environmental undertone is suggested through the man’s integration with nature—his hair draped throughout a tree bough, while butterflies alight on his arm.
