Lot Essay

Moshekwa Langa’s practice is characterized by a childlike, Art Brut style reminiscent of Jean Dubuffet. Regular travels to South Africa frequently become the subject of his drawings, in which he renders his direct, open, and curious interest in his human relations as much as the engagement with the self.
