These wall-lights are modelled after the set of six in the Munich Residenz by Claude Galle (in H. Ottomeyer and P. Pröschel, Vergoldete Bronzen, Munich, 1986, no. 5.10.7, p. 357). Another comparable set can be found in the Grand Trianon at Versailles which were commissioned from Galle in 1809.
