Oval, on a gadrooned foot, the reeded acanthus-clad handles issuing from lions' masks, the shoulder with a shell border, the domed cover with conforming decoration, the reeded handle with lion's-mask joins and on an acanthus calyx, underside engraved with retail stamp of MACKAY & CHRISHOLM/ ST. PRINCES STREET/ EDINBURGH, marked on foot, cover, handle, and calyx
