A PARCEL GILT BRONZE TRIPOD CENSER AND COVER
JAPAN, 17TH CENTURY
The compressed-form censer is decorated with shaped panels enclosing flowers and birds. The shoulders are affixed with gilt loose-ring monster-head handles, the feet are similarly decorated. The pierced flattened cover is surmounted by a karashishi finial.
