A BLUE-GROUND BROCADE JACKET, A VELVET JACKET AND A YELLOW-GROUND BROCADE DRAGON ROUNDEL JACKET
EARLY 20TH CENTURY
The blue-ground brocade jacket is decorated with gilt thread with orchid roundels above auspicious symbols in lishui waves. The purple velvet jacket is decorated with a central shou roundel surrounded by auspicious symbols and a wan border. The yellow jacket is decorated with dragons chasing the flaming pearl, all amongst ruyi-cloud scrolls.
Provenance
Acquired in the early 1930s in China by a European couple working for an international shipping company.
