AN IVORY COCKADE FAN AND AN IVORY BRISÉ FAN
19TH CENTURY
The cockade fan is finely pierced with a small oval vignette enclosing two figures in a landscape, surrounded by flowers, leafy sprays and squirrels; framed and glazed. The brisé fan is carved to the centre with a cartouche enclosing the name 'EMMA', amongst figures in a garden and auspicious symbols. The guard sticks are carved with dragons and immortals.
The frame: 23 ½ x 16 1/8 in. (59.5 x 41 cm.)
The second fan: 7 ½ in. (19 cm.) long
