A GILT-LACQUERED BRONZE SEATED FIGURE OF SHAKYAMUNI
MING DYNASTY (1368-1644)
Shakyamuni is cast with a serene expression and downcast eyes and is seated in dhyanasana upon a lotus base, his hands held in dhyanamudra. He is dressed in long flowing robes incised with floral motifs at the hems.
