A PALE CELADON JADE 'MYTHICAL BEAST' VASE AND COVER
19TH CENTURY
The vase is of flattened form and is carved as a horned mythical beast standing foursquare with an elaborate curled tail. The neck is carved with two loop handles with loose rings and the cover is surmounted by a bird-form finial. The stone is of a pale even tone with a few minor lighter streaked inclusions to one side.
