A SMALL IVORY FIGURE OF SHOULAO
MING DYNASTY (1368-1644)
Shoulao is carved in a seated position with a characteristic tall forehead and downcast eyes. He holds a staff in his left hand, while his right hand rests upon his knee. He is dressed in long flowing robes tied at the waist.
