A MOTTLED CELADON JADE BIRD PENDANT AND A PALE CELADON JADE BELT HOOK
MING DYNASTY (1368-1644) AND 19TH CENTURY
The first is carved as a bird, its wings splayed and its head turned. The beak and the back side are pierced with small holes for attachment. The stone is of a dark celadon tone with some brownish inclusions. The belt hook is carved with a dragon-head terminal, the shaft incised with archaistic motifs with a flower stud on the reverse. The stone is a pale greenish tone with cloudy inclusions.
