By repute, acquired by Sir William Adamson, C.M.G. (1832-1917) in the mid-19th century when working in Singapore, and then by descent. Sir William recommended Anna Leonowens to King Mongkut of Siam, who became governess to the royal children in the Court of Siam in 1862.
