A GILT-BRONZE FIGURE OF AMITAYUS
18TH-19TH CENTURY
The figure is cast seated in padmasana and holding a vase in his hands on a double lotus pedestal. He is wearing a five-leaf diadem and adorned with a long necklace, elaborate earrings, armlets, bracelets and anklets. His face has a serene expression with downcast eyes and a gentle smile. The figure is covered overall in a rich gilding, while the unopened base is incised and parcel gilt with a double vajra.
