A PAIR OF WUCAI 'DRAGON AND PHOENIX' BOWLS
DAOGUANG SIX-CHARACTER SEAL MARKS IN UNDERGLAZE BLUE AND OF THE PERIOD (1821-1850)
Each bowl is decorated with two five-clawed striding dragons in green and red enamels amongst flower sprays, interspersed with a phoenix in flight, all below a band enclosing the Eight Buddhist Emblems, bajixiang. The interiors are each decorated with a roundel enclosing an iron-red dragon chasing the flaming pearl.
