Daydreaming in the garden

This watercolour is one of Rackham’s earliest known figurative works. His earliest known landscapes are dated 1889, and an example of which 'Wimbledon Common', was sold in these rooms on 28th January, 2015. At this time Rackham was working at the Westminster Fire Office and attending evening classes at Lambeth School of Art.
