Each with a slightly tapered rectangular caned seat flanked by scrolled ends with reeded and bobbin-turned arms and with a buttoned black horsehair squab cushion on scroll legs on brass ball feet

Lot Essay

The stools relate to a 'Window seat' pattern with Grecian-scrolled frame and flowered volutes that was executed in the early 19th century by Messrs. Morgan and Sanders of Trafalgar House, Catherine Street (R. Ackermann, The Repository of Arts, 1809, illustrated in P. Agius, Ackermann's Regency Furniture and Interiors, London, 1984, p. 39).
