CASE: the hood with gilt bronze vase finials and central fret panel; DIAL: the 12 inch dial with 'strike/silent' to the arch, the matted centre with seconds ring, date aperture and arched signature plaque 'Samuel Thorne, London'; MOVEMENT: the three train movement with recoil anchor escapement, quarter striking on eight bells and rack striking on a larger bell, with trip repeat, with pendulum, winding key and two case keys
