Two parts in one volume, 8° (120 x 97mm). Additional engraved title, folding plate reproducing Derzhavin’s handwriting. (Short tears neatly repaired in folding plate and some margins, scattered spotting, occasional light soiling and a few ink spots, small puncture without loss in gathering 16 of part 2.) 20th-century Russian green half morocco, flat spine lettered directly in gilt, top edge gilt, printed endpaper (extremities lightly rubbed).

FIRST EDITION. Includes the first appearance in print of six early poems by Pushkin: ‘Zhelanie’, ‘Romans’, ‘Favn i Pastushka’, ‘Zazdravnyi kubok’, ‘K zhivopistsu’, and ‘Son’. This rare literary collection also includes works by Derzhavin, Zhukovskii, Karamzin, and many others. WorldCat locates only one copy, the Kilgour copy at Harvard.
