Purchased from the factory in 1813 by Sir William Cosway, and thence by descent to the present owner
Lot Essay
Sir William Cosway (1783-1834) lived at Bilsington Priory in Kent and was secretary to Admiral Lord Collingwood during the Battle of Trafalgar.
