LOTS 984-987PROPERTY OF Edwin I-Li Wong and madame Wong Pao Pui LiMr. Edwin I-Li Wong (1932-2009) was a successful entrepreneur and a lifelong supporter of the arts. Originally from Shanghai, Mr. Wong had a particularly keen eye and fondness for artists from the regions of Shanghai and Jiangsu Province. He was an avid collector starting from the 1960s and was an accomplished calligrapher by his own right. The collection was built up during his travels to China with his wife Mrs. Wong Pao Pui Li (born 1944), an acclaimed soprano and beloved voice teacher. Apart from the classical works, modern works from the same Collection will be sold in our Fine Chinese Modern Paintings sale on 1 December 2015 (Lots 1281-1305).
