Paolo Valentino worked as Moscow correspondent for the Corrierre della Sera from 1990 until 1995 during which time he developed an interest in Russian art, acquiring the present works and sitting for Violetta Shterenberg, daughter of David. Now based in Rome, Valentino interviewed Vladimir Putin in June of this year in advance of the President’s trip to Milan.
