拍品專文

The present cigarette case was given to Prince Heinrich of Prussia (1862-1929), during the Swinemünde voyage of Emperor Nicholas II in 1907.

A meeting between Nicholas II and his cousin Emperor Wilhelm II of Prussia took place in a German Baltic-coast spa town Swinemünde on 4 August 1907. The meeting was intended to reorganise and secure the political situation in Europe.

Prince Heinrich of Prussia was the brother of Emperor Wilhelm II of Prussia and Commander of the High Seas Fleet. It is documented that he attended the meeting in Swinemünde together with Wilhelm II.

We are grateful to Valentin Skurlov for his assistance with the research of the present lot.
