The cup painted with allegorical scenes of famine in red sepia tones on white ground, probably after a design by Mikhail Adamovich, with black border, the interior rim painted with a scalloped dark red border, with a scroll handle, marked under base with green underglaze Imperial Porcelain Factory mark and blue overglaze hammer, sickle and cog, and the date '1923', inscribed in blue number '374.1.'; the saucer similarly decorated, marked under base with green underglaze Imperial Porcelain Factory mark and blue overglaze hammer and sickle, and the date '1923', inscribed in blue number '374.'
The cup 2 7/8 in. (7.2 cm.) high
