Of navette form, on a spreading circular foot, engraved throughout with strapwork and foliate arabesques, the top with two hinged covers with handles in the form of swan’s necks, centring roundels depicting Christ and John the Baptist within borders engraved in Russian with the Troparion of Theophany, opening to reveal a well for holy water, together with a silver-gilt mounted aspergillum [kropilo], marked throughout
