A FINELY CARVED BAMBOO 'LOTUS POND' BRUSH POT
LATE MING-EARLY QING DYNASTY, 17TH CENTURY
The brush pot is deeply carved with a continuous scene depicting a lotus pond, with tall stalks of lotus flowers, large leaves and reeds rising from the base of the brush pot, a crab resting on a lotus leaf and an egret feeding in the water.
