A SET OF FOUR GEORGE III SILVER CANDLESTICKS
MARK OF JOHN PARSONS AND CO., SHEFFIELD, 1788
Each on oval base with tapering stem and vase shaped socket, engraved with foliage, the base further engraved with a coat-of-arms on one side and a crest on the other, each marked on base and nozzle
11 1/8 in. (28 cm.) high
The arms and crest are those of Kirkpatrick, almost certainly for Sir James Kirkpatrick 4th Bt. (d.1804) of Closeburn, co. Dumfries.
