JAIME POLYCARPO D'ABREU
Jaime Polycarpo d'Abreu (embossed in capsule) was the current owner’s grandfather. He was a chemist that used this Malmsey to make "tonic" wine which he sold in his pharmacy. The grapes came from his own property in San Antonio. One day a cousin of his, working for Madeira Wine Company, said he should bottle this Malmsey as it was too good for "tonic" wine. We should thank him as this is a very good Malmsey!
