Following service during the Peninsula and at Waterloo, the 18th Hussars served in the Army of Occupation as part of Lord Combermere's British Cavalry Corps. The Corps was composed as follows:

1st Brigade, Lord Somerset: 2nd and 3rd Dragoon Guards.
2nd Brigade, Sir Richard Hussay Vivian: 12th Light Dragoons and 18th Hussars.
3rd Brigade, Colquhoun Grant: 7th Hussars and 11th Light Dragoons.
