With rebrowned 29 ¾ in. (75.5 cm.) twist barrels, engraved patent breeches each with platinum-inlaid line and pierced platinum plug, scroll engraved tang and locks each retaining some faded original case-hardened finish, figured walnut half-stock, engraved mounts including trigger-guard retaining some original blued finish fitted with a patent grip-safety, and brass-mounted ramrod, London proof marks, in original lined and fitted mahogany case, with some accessories including powder- and shot flasks, the lid with printed Purdey trade label

Unsworth notes 3018 as being sold on 30 August 1837 for £52. 10. 0. The gun was cased, had a silver escutcheon bearing the initials 'W.B.', and being fitted with the patent grip-safety but not the intercepting sears.
