With 36 in. (91.5 cm.) browned twist black powder only barrel, action with carved percussion fence, rebounding back-action lock, retaining much original case-hardened finish throughout, figured 14 ¼ in. semi-pistolgrip stock, and dark horn fore-end cap, weight 12 lbs. 14 ¾ oz.
Provenance
The makers have kindly confirmed that this 'back grip' hammergun was completed in 1881 for a Mr. Manton.
