Lot Essay

With Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives confirming production of the present watch with gilt dial and Greek style Arabic numerals in 1921 and its subsequent sale on October 15th 1923.

The extremely unusual design of this watch makes this timepiece a prize for Patek Philippe collectors. The gold dial, with extraordinarily well preserved black indelible enamel, is a fitting match for the beautifully chased and engraved case. The particular triangular case shape is so unusual, in fact, it has never before been seen at auction.
