Lot Essay

Accompanied by a Van Cleef and Arpels presentation box and outer packaging.

The present wristwatch is an example of romance and poetry, encompassing the city where the two are known most: Paris.

Van Cleef & Arpels, the French jewelry house of great tradition has manufactured this modern timepiece which is characterized by the simplicity of its exterior beauty and complexity of its machinery. The enchanting blue dial represents the sky of Paris at midnight, 365 days a year. The dial turns smoothly, exposing the constellations, accented by twinkling stars.

The watch is powered by an eight day Jaeger-LeCoultre movement and the sky chart complication is reminiscent of some of the great watches ever made by Patek Philippe, including the legendary Henry Graves Jr. Supercomplication.
