Details
Château Mouton-Rothschild 1961
Pauillac, 1er cru classé
Three badly bin-soiled labels, one loose and bin-soiled, one with remains of label only. Levels: one top, three upper, one mid-shoulder
Tasting note: Most recently: glorious, deep, velvety appearance, still with youthful plummy colour; at first sniff, almost a ‘clone’ of the ’45, spicy, whiff of tobacco. Fairly sweet, very spicy, crisp, great length, dry finish. Delicious. Dramatic but not overdone. Last tasted November 2005 ***** Time in hand. M.B.
