A VERY UNUSUAL CIZHOU-TYPE PAINTED TRIPOD CENSER
JIN-YUAN DYNASTY, 12TH-14TH CENTURY
The bulbous body is raised on three lion-mask supports and decorated in shades of brown on a white slip under an ivory-toned transparent glaze on each side with a shaped panel, one enclosing a rabbit, the other a foliate design below the key fret-carved neck flanked by a pair of large carp-form handles.
