A PALE GREENISH-WHITE JADE BOULDER
18TH-19TH CENTURY
The boulder is of rounded oval shape and carved on one side with a scholar and attendant beside a pine tree. The reverse is carved with a deer standing beneath a pine tree, with a bird in flight above. The semi-translucent, well-polished stone is of pale greenish-white color.
4 ½ in. (11.4 cm.) high, wood stand
Provenance
Acquired prior to 1900, and thence by descent within the family.
