A WHITE JADE PLAQUE AND A JADEITE PLAQUE
LATE QING DYNASTY
The white jade rectangular plaque is well carved in low relief on one side with a vignette of a fruiting peach tree, narcissus, and lingzhi growing from rocky ground. The reverse is carved with a four-character inscription in seal script, zhi xian zhu shou flanked by two kui dragons. The semi-translucent stone is of even white tone. The jadeite plaque is carved in openwork with a bat and a dragonfly flying amidst a flowering stem. The jadeite is semi- translucent and of greenish-white and rich green color.
