A Chinese grey pottery model of a goose
standing looking straight ahead, the details naturalistically carved -- 9½in. (24cm) high, traces of white and red pigment remaining, Han Dynasty; and a pottery model of a mythical beast seated on its haunches on a pierced rectangular base, some cream and red pigments remaining -- 11in. (28cm) high, Sui Dynasty, wood stand.
Provenance: The goose exhibited at the Oriental Ceramics Society, 1953 and formerly in the Malcolm Collection. (2)
