A SMALL CARVED DING ‘DAYLILY’ DISH
NORTHERN SONG DYNASTY (960-1127)
The dish has angled sides rising from a flat base to a slightly flaring rim. The interior is skillfully carved and combed to depict a single daylily sprig, adorned with sketchily carved leaves. It is covered overall in a pale ivory glaze.
4 1/2 in. (11.5 cm.) diam., brocade box
