FIRST EDITION IN FRENCH of Filson’s first history of Kentucky, first published in English in 1784, and an important eye-witness account of the exploration and settlement of the old frontier. The French translator, J.P. Parraud, included additional information not present in Filson’s original text. It is the first French history of Kentucky, containing the first map of the state ever published in France. Church 1212; Howes F-129; Sabin 24338.
