Smith and a two-page autograph letter from Albert Edward, Prince of Wales, from Marlborough House, June 22nd 1887, to Edward Lawson (the Hon. Secretary and Treasurer of the Committee) congratulating him on: "the great success of today's proceedings -- nothing could have gone off better and it was a remarkably pretty sight -- The Queen was I know much gratified," black morocco, gilt (extremities rubbed, head caps worn).
