Lot Essay

Badr al-Din Mahmud bin Ahmad bin Musa bin Ahmad al-'Ayni was a historian, 'ulama and muhaddith from Ayntab in Anatolia. He lived in Aleppo, Jerusalem, Damascus and Cairo where he died in 1451 AD. The full name of the present work is Sharh shawahid shuruh al-alfiya. It is a commentary on Muhammad bin 'Abdullah Ibn Malik's (d. 1274 AD) work on language Kitab al-Alfiya.
