This manuscript opens on a paragraph on Prophet Hud who was 'the first to speak Arabic (awwal man takallama bi al-lisan al-'arabi)'. It then mentions a large number of biblical and historical figures such as Shaddad bin 'Ad, the Arabian king of Iram, Nuh (Noah), Ibn 'Abbas, Abu Bakr, Harun al-Rashid, and a number of Abbasid caliphs. It ends with the Almohad ruler Ya'qub al-Mansur (r. 1184-1199).
