MALWA, 17TH CENTURY
Opaque pigments heightened with gold on paper, a lord and his lady sit on a hilltop amidst a furious battle, various episodes from the epic fight between the lord and a monkey demon appear to the left and right, the demon throwing a mount to the left, a blue-skinned god, an ascetic, two brahmins and some retainers bless the scene from above, in red borders
