(Lacking half-titles, one plate in vol. IV and the blank Y4 in vol. III, clean tear affecting 5 lines of text to leaf Bb2 in vol. V, light waterstaining in a few margins of vol.IV, occasional minor spotting and marginal soiling throughout, a little stronger in vol.V.) Contemporary diced calf (rebacked, front cover of vol.IV detached). Provenance: Royal Institution of Great Britain (gilt library stamps on spines).

'This edition is by no means complete… but a very full collection of original texts issued in book form. It is the first to contain his important Geometria Analytica.
