A WHITE, GREY AND RUSSET JADE 'ZHONG KUI AND DEMON' CARVING
18TH CENTURY
The group is carved to depict Zhong Kui in a crouched position with finely carved facial features and delicately incised beard, confronting a fierce demon clambering below him. The stone is of a mottled white tone with dark grey inclusions and areas of concentrated russet.
