A CARVED SPINACH-GREEN JADE BRUSHPOT
19TH CENTURY
The vessel is deeply carved in high relief with a continuous design depicting three scholars standing on a bridge over turbulent water by a pavilion in a rocky, mountainous landscape with waterfalls and pine trees, all below a cloud-enshrined rim. The stone is of a deep green colour with some mottling and paler flecks.
