QING DYNASTY (1644-1911)
The unusual censer is modelled after the archaic bronze tripod vessel, ding, with two upright loop handles rising from the mouth rim. The vessel is painted overall in various shades of green and blue to simulate the malachite and azurite encrustations which are characteristic of archaic bronzes.
