SIGNED BEI YAN (1879-1930), INSCRIBED WITH BINGCHEN CYCLICAL DATE CORRESPONDING TO 1916
The teapot is incised on one side with sprays of bamboo and on the other side with a poetic inscription reading yue bai feng qing which can be translated as "the white moon and the crisp wind" followed by a signature reading Bei Yan (the artist's name for Shao Yunwu). The interior of the cover is moulded with a seal reading sheng bao.
