A FAMILLE ROSE 'SILK PRODUCTION' AND 'FIELD TILLING' BOWL
DAOGUANG SIX-CHARACTER SEAL MARK IN IRON RED AND OF THE PERIOD (1821-1850)
The bowl is finely rendered with four scenes, two depicting figures tending to rice fields, taken from the 'Gengzhi tu' (Pictures of Tilling and Weaving), and two the processing and weighing of of silk cocoons. Each scene is accompanied by a poetic descriptive inscription. The scalloped rim is highlighted in gilt.

Lot Essay
A similar bowl, however depicting two scenes, was sold at Christie's, London, 7 November 2014, lot 633.
